Right Outlane Free Ball Gates

Right outlane free ball gates are Free Ball Gates fitted to the right Outlanes, so that the lane which normally ends a ball can instead return it to the shooter for another go.

The arrangement is a short-lived one of the middle Electromechanical period. Bally used it on machines of 1965 and 1966 — Bull’s Eye, Magic Circle and Wild Wheels — and Williams fitted one to Dipsy Doodle (1970). Where a Kickback later put the same rescue in the same lane, it did so by throwing the ball back onto the playfield; the free ball gate instead sends it round to the plunger and lets the player start the shot again.
