- Right outlane free ball gates are [[gameplay-feature:free-ball-gates]] fitted to the right [[gameplay-feature:outlanes]], so that the lane which normally ends a ball can instead return it to the shooter for another go.
The arrangement is a short-lived one of the middle [[technology-generation:electromechanical]] period. [[manufacturer:bally]] used it on machines of 1965 and 1966 — *[[title:bulls-eye]]*, *[[title:magic-circle]]* and *[[title:wild-wheels]]* — and [[manufacturer:williams]] fitted one to *[[model:dipsy-doodle]]* (1970). Where a [[gameplay-feature:kickback]] later put the same rescue in the same lane, it did so by throwing the ball back onto the playfield; the free ball gate instead sends it round to the plunger and lets the player start the shot again.
