Hanging Targets

A target suspended above the playfield with its top edge attached to a supporting frame, hanging downward into the ball’s path. When struck, the target swings on its pivot and closes a switch to register the hit. Hanging targets present a different visual and physical profile than surface-mounted Standup Targets — they dangle in space, often partially obscured by nearby playfield features, and their swinging motion after a hit provides satisfying visual feedback. They appeared on approximately 44 IPDB-cataloged machines, primarily during the Electromechanical era.
