Eyeball Targets
Novelty Targets shaped like eyeballs, designed to reinforce a horror or supernatural theme through their visual appearance on the playfield. When struck, the eyeball target registers a hit like a conventional Standup Targets, but the sculpted form adds a visceral, thematic impact that a flat rectangular target cannot match. Data East’s Tales from the Crypt (1993) featured eyeball targets, fitting the macabre source material with a playfield element that stares back at the player — a memorable example of how target design can serve narrative atmosphere as much as game mechanics.
