RIFLIP

RIFLIP, whose fuller corporate style was RIFLIP – Organizzazione Costa, was a coin-op maker in Turin known in the pinball record for a single Electromechanical table, San Marco (1968). It belonged to the first generation of homegrown Italian builders. From the 1960s, Italian law barred pinball machines from awarding any prize, whether a cash Cash Payout or a free Replay.^[1] Where most Italian makers of the day answered demand by rebuilding Gottlieb, Williams and Bally designs as unlicensed bootleg copies, San Marco carried no American original and stands out as a rare wholly-Italian design of the era.
