Serial Rollover Lanes

Serial rollover lanes are lanes carrying a line of Rollovers one after another, so that a single ball running the length of the lane closes every switch in it in turn rather than one.

The arrangement is Gottlieb’s, and the firm normally built two of them side by side down the right of the playfield, where a ball entering the top of one lane scores its way down.^[1] It runs from Lawman (1971) through the middle 1970s, and the Spanish and Italian makers who worked from Gottlieb layouts — Maresa, Playmatic, Nordamatic and Mondialmatic — copied it along with everything else.
