Rollover Drop Targets
A Drop Targets and Rollovers hybrid activated by the ball rolling over the target rather than striking its upright face. Instead of standing vertically in the ball’s path, a rollover drop target sits flush with or slightly above the playfield surface, dropping below when the ball passes over it. This orientation allows designers to place drop-target completion challenges in lanes and pathways where a conventional upright target would block the ball’s flow. Gottlieb’s TX-Sector (1988) and Stern’s The Walking Dead (2014) both featured rollover drop targets integrated into lane designs.
