Right Outlane Stationary Posts

Right outlane stationary posts are fixed pegs standing in the right Outlanes, the channel that carries a ball past the flippers and out of play. The post gives that ball something to hit on the way down: struck at the right angle it can cross back into the adjacent inlane and return to a flipper.^[1]

It is the passive answer to a problem later machines solved with power. A Kickback fires the ball back up the same lane and Magnetic Kickbacks pull it away from the gutter; the post does neither, and rewards only a ball that happens to strike it well. The fitting belongs to the Electromechanical years, turning up on 1970s machines from Williams, INDER, Sonic and Martel.
