Black Jack
Overview
Black Jack is a 1976 Solid State machine from BEM of Milan, named for the Cards game blackjack and sold in the firm’s compact “testa piccola” (small-head) cabinet.[1] Its electronics were rudimentary even for early solid-state pinball: in place of a microprocessor it ran on banks of small circuit boards sealed in yellow plastic boxes, reproducing the old relay logic with digital ICs — the same scheme documented on BEM’s contemporaneous Sun’s Cruise.[2]
