Dick Bueschel's Encyclopedia of Pinball Vol 1 does not include the name 'Whiz Ball' in its exhaustive list of 1930-1933 pinball machines. However, except for lacking a payout unit on the cabinet front, this game is identical to the payout game Whiz Ball's 1932 'Whiz Ball Jack Pot' including having a stamped serial number in the upper right ball arch.
This game has a 'Whiffle' playfield. A similar playfield is found on Unknown Manufacturer's 'Nerts'.
