This game was a conversion for T.H. Bergmann & Co.'s 1957 'Turf' and T.H. Bergmann & Co.'s 1954 'Clipper', two of the more successful games from that manufacturer. This conversion could come with or without pop bumpers, as an option for German players who did not like the added noise. The conversion used technology comparable to Rally games of the period. A collector in Germany, Christian Jacobs, estimates that this conversion was not a success, as he never saw any of them. The name "Wer zahlt die Runde" roughly translates to "He who loses has to buy drinks."
