    Flippers (8), Pop bumpers (2), Slingshots (2). Viking's eyes are red blinking LEDs. Two different playfield versions are shown here: one has two kick-out holes, the other does not. This is a head-to-head game where two players at opposite ends of the playfield compete in simultaneous play. Each player has flipper buttons which control only those flippers facing the opponent. Game can also be played as a single player. Ball enters play from outhole by pressing right flipper button. This game's cabinet was advertised as 33 X 45 X 26. One example of this game was reported to us as 42 inches long, 32 inches wide, and 28 inches high.

    The EM version of this game is Viza's 'War'. We previously showed a date for this game of October, 1978. However, per Amusement Review, Jan/Feb 1980, page 7, this game was presented at the 1979 AMOA Expo held November 8-11, 1979 in Chicago. The playfield shows a portion of Frank Frazetta's artwork The Berserker. Reportedly, Ellie Frazetta, who was his wife and business manager, had indicated that this was an unauthorized use of his artwork. Manufactured under contract by Allied Leisure Industries. It was reported to us in 2017 that a quantity of less than ten solid-state playfields were examined to learn that their various mechanical playfield assemblies (flippers, pop bumpers, slingshots, kick-out holes, etc.) were made by Allied Leisure, Brunswick, and/or Wico Corporation. We don't know which of these manufacturers' parts would be original to these games since 1979/1980 or how representative this mixing of brands was throughout the production run, although we would expect the contractor Allied Leisure to have first chosen their own parts. According to an informative article by Bill Kurtz in GameRoom Magazine October 1995, the playfield had several production changes with the most noticeable being the removal of the two kick-out holes.
