ipdb.notes
IPDB Circa early 1930s. The example we saw of this game had an unpainted wood playfield while the upper and lower aprons and the cabinet were painted red, likely a repaint. The term vedette designates a class of ships, usually light and fast. used
ipdb.notable_features
IPDB Snap traps (10). This game has a shooter lane to allow the ball to loop 360 degrees around the playfield before entering into play. Near playfield center is a large aluminum six-sided polygon acting as a ball guide and a sailing ship is depicted on its top. An aluminum totalizer is in the lower playfield and below it is a metal plaque with the name VEDETTE in large letters. Below this name are the words Modele brevete a depose and Patents applied for in all countries. Riveted onto the lower right apron area is a small plate stamped with BREVET P.J. THANS and a License number. A large playfield reset knob is on the left cabinet front below the coin slot. The cabinet measured 92 cm long, 42 cm wide, and 25 cm high (without legs). used
