ipdb.notes
IPDB The game pictured here has had its entire front cabinet panel replaced. The coin door and its lock are not there but the ball lift and shooter knobs have been retained. A metal rod has replaced the coin slide. The owner reports that the original cabinet front looked like the one for PAMCO's 1933 'Contact (Senior)'. According to an article in Billboard (Aug-21-1954, pages 78 and 83), Lou Dunis founded Superior Amusement Company "in the early 1930's as an operating company and, under the spur of the depression, soon went into the [pinball machine] manufacturing business. Three furniture plants were put to work turning out games." By the time of this 1954 article, the name of the company was Dunis Distributing Company with headquarters at 1003 S.W. Front Avenue, Portland, Oregon. used
