    ipdb.notes
This is the same game as Stern's 1979 'Trident' but manufactured in Australia under license, using knock-down games shipped from Stern. The back of the cabinet has a manufacturer plate from LAI with serial number. The backglass shown here from the game with serial number 8687 has colors different from other 'Trident' backglasses. Much red is missing from the monster's tentacles. Yellow is missing from around each score display, from the area behind the word 'Players', and from the monster's beak, mane, and arms. We don't know the reason(s) for these color differences. The artist's name "MCINERNEY" appears on the left leg of the green man on the lower playfield. We have no information on this artist, and designer Mike Kubin did not recall who it was, telling us that, at that time, George Molentin from Advertising Posters used to do the presentations. They would go over the artwork, then George would make notes and have the changes made. It was sometime later that the designers began interfacing directly with the artists themselves. Manufacturer data for Trident: Production Start Date: 3/15/79 Production End Date: 6/20/79 Quantity produced - full games: 3757 (see Stern's 1979 'Trident') Quantity produced - knock-down games: 262 Total Quantity Produced: 4019
