- Bally documentation indicates Model 277 had a release (to production) date of 8-15-38. It also lists a Model 303 'Thistledowns' with a release (to production) date of 10-19-38. The earliest ad we found for any Thistledowns was a Billboard ad dated Oct-22-1938 (shown here) which seems too soon to be Model 303. Therefore, and until we know more, all of the pictures and matching ads are placed in this earlier listing.
