- ipdb.notes
- This is not a pinball machine. This is a device called an "electronic upright" or just "upright". Also called a "flasher type" slot machine. It does not payout cash. The credit meter increments instead, allowing for continued play without insertion of additional coins.
The earliest references we found for this game were in Cash Box, Oct-1-1960. On page 61, Paul Huebsch, Keeney Vice President and sales director, announced that this game had been released to the trade and was in full production at the plant. Based on that, we provide a date of September 1960 for this game.
In our Files section are two undated schematic diagrams, both identified as Part No. F-3885-E, depicting some slightly different circuitry and look as if drawn by different people. One has what we presume are the original symbols used on the "Flasher Lites" (Panascope) display: Arrow, Crown, Trophy, Clover, Star, Target, Heart, Diamond, and Horseshoe. The other schematic lists the Flasher Lites but with two sets of names: the original symbols and also as fruit symbols: Arrow, Melon, Pear, Bell, Grapes, Plum, Lemon, Orange, and Cherry.
