IPDB The manufacturers original playfield drawing (not shown here) is undated and unsigned. On this game, a standard step-up unit was used for each player to count the sequential numbers 1 to 5 earned by that player. A standard Player Relay alternated between players to select which of the two playfield step-up units is active for the player being served. In this way, the Player Relay dedicated a step-up unit for each player, allowing for each player a separate accounting of earned numbers 1 to 5 to appear on both the backglass and the playfield and to carry-over from ball to ball. This is an example of playfield "memory" for multi-player EM games. 'Piccadilly' is not the only Williams 2-player EM game that had playfield "memory" using alternating step-up units. Two subsequent games with this feature are Williams' 1966 '8 Ball' and Williams' 1968 'Pit Stop'. Manufacturer's list price when new: $449.50 F.O.B. factory. used
ipdb.notable_features
IPDB 5 balls per play. Flippers (2), Pop bumpers (5), Passive bumpers (4), Slingshots (2), Gobble hole (1). Three passive bumpers are numbered 1,2, and 3, and two rebound rubbers have inserts numbered 4 and 5. A ball hitting these five numbered lights in sequence will turn off each number on the playfield when hit while simultaneously lighting that number on the backglass. The earned numbers carry-over from ball to ball. The completion of each 1-5 resets them to be hit again while the score value for those bumpers increases with each completion from 1 point, to 5, to 10, to 20 points, finally to a replay upon each hit. Replay wheel maximum: 47 Sound: 2 bells, knocker. used
