- IPDB The Encyclopedia of Pinball Volume 1 page 136 lists this game made by "The Olympic Manufacturing Company" of Chicago. Probably, this is actually the "Olympic Games Manufacturing Company" of Chicago, the name they used in the Billboard ads we have seen for their other 1932 games, Happy Gang and Happy Midget. However, the only picture we have seen of a game physically identified as "Olympic Sportsman" (on its lockdown bar) was in a full page ad placed in June 1932 by the manufacturer Johnson and Johnson that appeared in Automatic Age magazine, June 1932, page 126 (online PDF page is 130) and in the Encyclopedia of Pinball Volume 1, page 80. Until more information is learned, our listing prefers that photo evidence. used
