One apron designates the player as the "Mindmasters" and the other apron designates the other player as the "Warlords". This is a head-to-head game where two players at opposite ends of the playfield compete in simultaneous play. Each player has flipper buttons which control only those flippers facing the opponent. Each player can work towards achieving objectives that disable the opponent's upper flippers and devalue opponent's bumpers.
