ipdb.notes
IPDB In add-a-ball mode, the five red flags on the backglass will light to indicate up to five earned extra balls instead of advancing the ball count unit as is done on USA add-a-ball games. The backglass resembles that of Gottlieb's 1975 'Spin Out' including showing the same crowd. Their playfields are not identical to each other. We see the lower cabinet has an operator option to select the "Tilt Reset Adjustment" to be In or Out. We presume this will decide if tilting ends only the ball-in-play or ends the game. We noticed the coin door is adaptable for three coin slots and has a replay button, unlike most add-a-ball coin doors we have seen in USA models of the period. Federico Croci, a collector in Italy, tells us, "That's because AMI exported too, and some of their one-player games were made to be exported in Europe, or even Australia. Sometimes, in foreign countries, to have three coin slots was the standard. The card on the right (in the pictures shown here) has the name of an Italian operator from the south of Italy. Apart from the one, two, or three coin mechs, in Italy it was common to have the replay button even on add-a-ball games, as at the time it was 50 Lire 1 play, 100 lire 2 plays. Having a replay button suggested to some operators to modify even add-a-ball games to award replays, by adding the needed hardware inside. Even without a credit window, you have the credit light on the metal apron to show you have one or more credit." used
