    ipdb.notes
We had read a report that the "pop-up posts" would easily break soon after the games left the factory and were put into operation, reportedly because the posts had been made out of acetate instead of a Zytel nylon resin. We asked Wayne Neyens about this. He said that he always felt he should apologize for this pop-up post design and that operators had to bring their games to the distributors or ship them to Gottlieb to have their posts replaced with ones made from the sturdier material. Based upon a short story by Damon Runyon, the musical 'Guys and Dolls' opened on Broadway in 1950 and had a successful run of 1,200 performances.
