IPDB This game is Not A Pinball. It operates like a slot machine. It has a glass playfield with no moving parts but has horse head symbols that are lit from behind after the player pulls the side handle. It pays out according to the award schedule on the backglass into a spring-loaded metal cup located on the front underside of the machine. This "Race Horse" model was intended for locations where the "Bell Fruit" model was not desired. The earliest ad we found mentioning it was in The Billboard, Oct-9-1937 page 97. Prices when new: 5c play = $149.50 10c play = $152.50 25c play = $155.50 A Milco check device was $7.50 extra. See also Mills' 1937 'Flasher (Bell Fruit)'. used
