- According to The Encyclopedia of Pinball Volume 2, page 42, The Stoner Manufacturing Company plant was completely destroyed in a fire during the evening of May 8, 1934. All completed machines and those in production were destroyed. In June, 'Double 8' was announced. Author Dick Bueschel indicated it was a "progressive scoring game".
