IPDB An article in The Billboard, Dec-11-1937, page 95 and dated December 4 announced a new De Luxe Preakness to go into production. With no confirmed manufacturer pictures or other contemporaneous pictures of the De Luxe model to go on, we dont know the differences between the original Model 119 Preakness of 1936 and the De Luxe Preakness of 1937 except what the manufacturer offered to say in one of their flyers (presented here), stating the deluxe version is tremendously gloried in appearance plus a new play-field and cabinet design numerous mechanical improvements, including ALL A.C. circuit and new motor-driven silent spinners! This suggests the Model 119 operated on DC batteries only. Further, this manufacturer flyer promotes the deluxe version in its text while making it a point to say the accompanying picture is their original model, not their deluxe one. This would indicate that their deluxe model is indeed visibly different from their original model just as their text suggests. Payout version sold for $129.50. Ticket version sold for $139.50. This game is Model 206. Bally issued Model 205, Bally's 1937 'De Luxe Preakness', eight days earlier and with the same name, according to Bally records. For this to happen, we wonder if Model 205 ever left the factory. We dont know the differences between the two deluxe models. Until we do know, we place all De Luxe information into our Model 206 listing. See also Bally's 1936 'Preakness'. used
