- IPDB Check Separator $5.00 extra. We previously showed the manufacture date for this game as September 1935. However, the Coin Machine Journal, September 1935, page 83, states this game "will shortly makes its appearance after several months of development". The Billboard, Oct-4-1935, page 81, reports the game "will soon be put in the production line." It isn't until December 1935 do we see further notice, by way of manufacturer's ads for both Standard and De Luxe versions, indicating the games had gone into production. The Encyclopedia of Pinball Volume 2, page 119 lists a Junior payout model as September 1935 although we have found no manufacturer's evidence of a Junior version. We have sourced that EOP listing to a single distributor ad placed by Electro-Ball Co., Inc. of Dallas, Texas advertising for sale in The Billboard, May-9-1936, page 92, a "DAILY DOUBLE, JR., 1-Ball Automatic, Brand New" while showing what they called a "Tremendous Price Reduction" of $44.50. The Standard version sold new for $77.50. It's likely that by saying "New" they meant "unused" and by "Jr." they meant "not the Senior version" as we have found no other reference to a Junior version in our research. As for the September date on EOP page 119, as stated above 'Daily Double' was not in production in September while the tremendous price drop of that following May would still befit a game that had been unsold since the previous December.
