- IPDB We have not seen any examples of this game made by J.F. Frantz. The detailed description we provide and its selling price were taken from an article in The Billboard, Jan-15-1949, page 112, where J.F. Frantz, a company more known for its mechanical gun games, was to manufacture this pin game under a royalty agreement with its patent holders (J. W. Culp, of Culp Products Company, known up to this point for their coinless games). Based on the cabinet height as described, this game is a pin table. A brief mention in The Billboard, Jan-15-1949, page 98, indicated John Frantz was to make a pilot run of 50 units before its premiere at the Coin Machine Institute show on January 17-19, 1949. After the show, a small January 29th Billboard article mentioned that Frantz "reported excellent comments on its action." We have found no ads for this game, only text references, and the last reference we found was in The Billboard, Feb-12-1949, page 104, indicating that Frantz was preparing production for this game. Whether or not this game actually went into production, it appears that at least one or a few of these games were made for the show. To be of interest to distributors and operators there, and at the price shown, we believe those games could not have been coinless, and we mention that if only to distinguish it from the coinless version, Culp Products Company's 'Bridgeball (game board model)'. Price when new: $159.50 used
