IPDB The game pictured here has the number "1931" stamped on the side of its cabinet. This number is probably the serial number, as playfield bumpers did not appear on games until 1936. Baker Novelty is known to have produced games between 1939-1941. This game was listed for sale as a used Free Play machine in the July 1940 issue of Automatic Age, page 23. The helmets depicted on the playfield appear to be the WWI Brodie M1917 design (aka doughboy helmet). The United States Army used the Brodie helmet through the beginning of WWII until it was replaced by the M1 helmet in 1942. used
