    ipdb.notes
Most horserace games have four sets of seven holes, each set numbered 1 to 7. This game has four sets of 9 holes, each set numbered 1 to 9. Bally documentation lists this game twice. First as Model 178 and later as Model 194. In both instances, they show the name as two words, "Bally Stables". We don't know what differences may exist between the two models. We previously showed a date for this Model 194 of November 1937 but the date from Bally records shows 10-14-37. Bally announced this game in The Billboard, Oct-16-1937, page 92 where they refer to this game in the two-word possessive form, "Bally's Stables". The backglass on the game itself, as pictured here, shows no game name, only the word 'SELECTION', while the top of the playfield appears to show the two-word name in its possessive form.
