    ipdb.notes
This game was the continued production of G.B. Daval Company Inc.'s 1934 'American Beauty (Improved)'. The manufacturer advertised this 36 inch by 16 1/2 inch game with text describing a Ball-O-Meter in the lower playfield and what they called a catapult (a ball kicker into a Mystery Score hole) in the upper playfield. However, some of these ads incongruously picture a playfield with no evident catapult and having what could be described as three decorative aluminum vases surrounding the American Beauty rose in the lower playfield, and no Ball-O-Meter. We cannot find any manufacturer reference to the "three vases" playfields. The game in the pictures in this listing likely was made by Daval Manufacturing Company but could have been made by G.B. Daval Company Inc. or by Gee Bee Manufacturing Company.
