Spooky Pinball
Overview
Spooky Pinball was founded by Charlie Emery in 2013 in Benton, Wisconsin, and quickly became one of the most beloved companies in the modern independent manufacturing scene. Operating from a small facility with a tight-knit team, Spooky built its reputation on original games with strong creative identities, genuine quirk, and a level of personality that larger manufacturers rarely risk.
Their debut title, America’s Most Haunted (2014), was produced in a limited run sold directly to enthusiasts, establishing the direct-to-consumer model that would define the company. Subsequent titles — Rob Zombie’s Spookshow International (2016), Total Nuclear Annihilation (2017), Halloween (2020), and Ultraman: Kaiju Rumble (2022) — have ranged from cult horror to beloved video game adaptations, all produced in numbers that make them genuine collector’s items by design. Spooky has become a symbol of what small-scale pinball manufacturing can achieve when creative vision takes precedence over commercial caution.
