deeproot

2019

Overview

deeproot Pinball was a San Antonio, Texas startup founded in 2017 by attorney and entrepreneur Robert J. Mueller. It set out to reinvent the modern machine, assembling veteran designers — among them John Popadiuk — and promising novel features such as a touchscreen “PinBar.” Its ambitions outran its delivery: the planned lineup, including Retro Atomic Zombie Adventureland, never reached buyers, and in August 2021 the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed an enforcement action alleging misappropriation of investor funds.[1]
