Spinners
Rotating metal gates mounted in a lane that spin freely when the ball passes through, scoring points on each revolution. A hard, fast shot sends the spinner whirling through dozens of rotations, racking up points with a satisfying metallic whir. Spinners reward shot power rather than precision and are typically placed at the entrance to orbits or upper playfield lanes where a strong shot is required to reach them. They were a staple of both Electromechanical and early Solid State designs, and they remain a popular feature in modern games.
