Relay Kick-Out Holes
A sequence of Kick-Out Holes arranged so that a ball landing in one is immediately kicked into the next, relaying the ball across the playfield in a chain of solenoid-powered ejects. Each hole in the series fires the ball to the next station in the sequence, creating a visible hop-scotch effect as the ball bounces from point to point. Relay kick-out holes allowed designers to transport the ball across distances that a single kicker could not reach, and they added theatrical spectacle to the playfield — the ball appearing to jump autonomously from one location to another.
