Ramp Diverters
A type of Diverters built into or positioned at ramp junctions to route the ball between different ramp exits. Rather than redirecting the ball on the open playfield, a ramp diverter operates within the enclosed ramp structure itself, switching a gate or flap to send the ball down one return path instead of another. Capcom’s Big Bang Bar (1996) used ramp diverters, and Stern employed them on titles such as Ripley’s Believe It or Not! (2004) and Rush (2022). They give designers a compact way to multiply the outcomes of a single ramp shot without adding new playfield real estate.
