Motorized Diverters

A type of Diverters driven by a motor rather than a solenoid, allowing continuous or precisely timed movement instead of the binary open-or-closed action of a standard diverter. The motor can hold the diverter at intermediate positions or sweep it through an arc on a schedule, giving designers finer control over when and how the ball’s path changes. Stern featured motorized diverters on the premium and limited-edition models of Elvira’s House of Horrors (2019), where the mechanism’s smooth, sustained motion contributed to a more theatrical ball-routing effect than a snap-action solenoid could provide.
