Magnetic Spinning Discs
A variant of Spinning Discs with an embedded magnet that actively affects the ball’s trajectory as the disc rotates. The magnet pulls the steel ball toward the disc’s surface, momentarily gripping it before the spinning motion releases it on an altered path. This magnetic interaction adds a layer of influence beyond the purely kinetic deflection of a standard spinning disc — the ball does not simply bounce off but is drawn in and redirected by an invisible force. Stern’s X-Men (2012) limited-edition models featured magnetic spinning discs as a premium playfield element.
